Epson Releases Voice and audio data PC tool for Epson ICs with Support for 12 Languages

Epson has released an updated PC tool that can create high-quality voice data for an Epson audio playback microcontroller and integrated circuit (IC). The new tool is compatible with Epson's S1C31D50 32-bit microcontroller which has dedicated sound hardware, and the S1V3G340 audio playback IC. A PDF file is available with the specifications.

Epson tells us that the microcontroller and IC support four languages (American English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean), but the new tool also provides support for eight additional languages (American Spanish, British English, Canadian French, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish).

With the development of the Internet of Things (IOT) voice guidance is now used more often in home electronics and health and fitness equipment, as well as for alarms in office buildings, shopping complexes, and factories. The existing sound playback microcontroller and IC developed by Epson have been optimized for such applications.

The new tool enables developers of IOT and similar items to easily make their products multilingual by embedding an IC. The tool is bundled with evaluation boards and provided free to customers of the S1C31D50 microcontroller and S1V3G340 to help Epson's customers improve product performance with solutions that leverage Epson's technologies.
