In a way to expand its presence in the industrial labelling market, Epson corporation, already well-known for its wide range of printing solutions announced this week that it had acquired K-Sun, a company with over 30 years experience in the field of industrial identifications solutions.

The company is based in Somerset, Wisconsin, and has been using Epson printers, on an OEM basis for the past two decades. By making the acquisition, Epson feels it is better placed to serve industrial customers with label printing solutions, "from the desktop to the industrial press."

K-Sun specializes in industrial and safety marking/identification, pipe marking, and wire/cable labeling and from January 2015 will sell the Epson-branded lineup of LabelWorks label printers for industrial applications in North America. Epson America will focus on promoting the printers to the consumer and office markets.
