Anyone who has been following some of the ideas I write about on eXtensions, would have seen, from time to time, information about the Arts creeping in. As well as apps showing specific Art types, like Japanese woodblock prints, a number of galleries have apps as well.

For a couple of years now, I have been collecting digital art in a small way. An organisation called [S]edition have an online presence that allows those interested to buy a digital version of a work. Some of the works I bought earlier have increased in price, so if the market ever opens (as is planned) I may actually have a modest return.

The works - both still and moving - may be viewed and purchased using a browser, or viewed by using the apps on the iPhone and iPad. The ability to buy Art with in-app purchases is planned and may be available in the next months.

There is also an app for the Samsung SmartTV and this week [S]edition announced a version of the app for Google Play, so the Art users purchase may now be viewed on Android devices.
