Last night, just after uploading my speculative report on what Apple might be pulling out of its hat in the next few days and weeks, Apple announced an event to be held on 10 September. I updated last night's text and here have a copy of the image that Apple sent out to those it has invited (source The Loop).

Invitation

What "brighten" means is open to speculation but some are suggesting it is a reference to coloured versions of the iPhone. Note also that the bubbles look like the images related to iOS 7 when that was announced at June's WWDC. "Into your Life?"

I suggested yesterday that iPhoto could certainly see an update in the next weeks (fingers crossed for Aperture) and this morning I see in my list of iOS app updates that iPhoto is being updated to Version 1.1.1: "Addresses compatibility issues". Compatibility with iOS 7?

Also shown in the list of updates were iMovie, version 1.4.2 (Addresses compatibility issues) and GarageBand, version 1.4.1 (Addresses minor issues related to general performance and stability).

We are likely to see a number of other updates rolled out, bit by bit, before the big show on 10 September.

Other updates this morning in my list were Image Blender and Optiscan QR Code reader.
