A number of online sources this morning are covering a report from Ina Fried on All Things Digital that claims the announcement (or announcements) for the next iPhone will be on 10 September. This of course has not been confirmed by Apple, despite the "sources" used to make the claim.

The event is expected to coincide with the release of the next version of iOS 7; and around the time OS X 10.9, Mavericks is to be made available. Both of these operating systems are still undergoing intensive development.

The new iPhone which many (not Ina Fried in this report) have been calling an iPhone 5S is expected to have improved features in terms of the camera installation and an upgrade to the processor. Whether or not the anticipated fingerprint sensor is included and what the new iPhone is called are still matters of speculation, as is any announcement of a lower priced version of an iPhone.

It is expected that Apple will be announcing a number of other products in the next few weeks, including iPad versions, Macs and other software.
